Each week we’re publishing some questions to think about based on the Sunday messages & Bible readings.
These can be used in home groups, with others or on your own, and are designed to help you engage in the passage and themes in more depth and reflect on how God might be speaking to you through them.
There wasn't a sermon this week, so instead we're building on some of the themes from the prayer time we had together.

Icebreaker Question
Think back over the last few weeks & months. Where have you seen God at work in your life, family, church or community?
Reading & Questions
Read 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Philippians 4:6-7 & Romans 8:26-27
- What picture do these passages paint about what prayer is and its importance in our lives?
- Do you find it easy to pray? What makes it easier or harder?
- How does it help to know that the Spirit is interceding with us and for us?
- On Sunday we spent some time in groups praying about the following themes. Return to them now - lifting up anything mentioned here or that God lays on your heart.

- Pray that children and young people will encounter Jesus, grow in faith and find a welcoming place within the life of the church.
Our Community
- Pray for neighbours who are lonely, unwell, bereaved or under financial pressure, that they will receive practical help and loving friendship.
- Pray for local schools, care services, charities, businesses and leaders, that they will serve the community with wisdom, compassion and integrity.
- Pray that our church will listen well to local needs and build relationships that share the hope and love of Christ.
Our Church
- Pray for a deepening love for God through worship, prayer, Scripture and faithful discipleship.
- Pray for our leaders, volunteers and ministry teams, that they will be strengthened, united and guided by the Holy Spirit.

Our World
- Pray for people affected by conflict and displacement, that violence will cease and peacemakers will be given courage and influence.
- Pray for communities facing poverty, injustice and the effects of climate change, that help will reach those most in need and lasting solutions will be found.
- Pray for the worldwide Church, that Christians will witness faithfully to Jesus and serve their neighbours with humility, generosity and hope.
Each Other
- End the session by praying for each other's needs at the moment.
