Each week we’re publishing some questions to think about based on the Sunday messages & Bible readings.
These can be used in home groups, with others or on your own, and are designed to help you engage in the passage and themes in more depth and reflect on how God might be speaking to you through them.

Icebreaker
What is one skill, talent, or quality you have that others in this group might not know about?
Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for calling us into Your family through Jesus Christ.
Thank You that each of us is uniquely made, uniquely gifted, and deeply loved by You.
Help us to see ourselves and one another as valuable members of the body of Christ.
As we reflect together today, open our hearts to recognise the gifts You have placed within us and those around us.
Challenge us where we have focused too much on our own preferences, and teach us to receive others as gifts from You.
May Your Spirit help us grow in humility, unity, and love.
Above all, may we become a community where everyone can truly belong
and where Your love is seen in the way we welcome, serve, and care for one another.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Reading & Questions
Read: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27
1. What stood out to you most from the sermon or from 1 Corinthians 12-13?
Share a phrase, idea, challenge, or example that particularly caught your attention.
2. Paul says that every member of the body is needed. Why do you think it's sometimes easier either to feel inferior ('I have little to offer') or superior ('My contribution matters most')?
- Which temptation do you identify with more?
- How does Paul's teaching challenge that way of thinking?
3. The sermon suggested that belonging requires us not only to use our gifts but also to receive the gifts of others. Why can receiving from people who are different from us be difficult?
Think about people of:
- Different ages
- Different personalities
- Different backgrounds
- Different worship preferences
- Different abilities and needs
4. Can you think of a time when someone very different from you enriched your faith or helped you grow as a Christian?
What did you learn from them? How might God be inviting us to remain open to learning from unexpected people?
5. In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul places love at the centre of church life. Which description of love do you think our church most needs to practise at the moment?
For example:
- Patient
- Kind
- Not self-seeking
- Keeps no record of wrongs
- Rejoices with the truth
- Always perseveres
What would it look like for that quality to be seen more clearly in our church community this week?
