Each week we’re publishing some questions to think about based on the Sunday messages & Bible readings.
These can be used in home groups, with others or on your own, and are designed to help you engage in the passage and themes in more depth and reflect on how God might be speaking to you through them.
This week we had our monthly Splash! service, which means there is no recording. However, you can still dig into the Bible passage we looked at in the service by reading the passage and thinking about the questions below.

Icebreaker Question
How did you first come to hear about Jesus?
Prayer
O Lord open our eyes, ears and hearts to meet with you today.
Speak to us of your grace and truth.
Allow us to be found by you.
Amen.
Reading & Questions
Read Luke 19:1-10
- Zaccheus was a wealthy man who appeared to have everything. Why do you think he was so keen to see Jesus?
- We discussed on Sunday that 1st Century tax collectors were not well liked. Not only were they collecting taxes for Rome, but they often took more than they were asked to. Who, in modern times would be our equivalent to tax collectors? And how would God have us act and be towards them?
- Jesus seemed to make a beeline for Zaccheus, locating him high in the tree and asking him to come down. Why is that significant?
- What does it mean that Jesus came to ‘seek and save the lost’ (v 10)?
- The transformation in Zaccheus’ life was dramatic. He realised that following Jesus had implications for his finances and his heart. What areas of your life are still needing transformation in order to be truly conformed to Christ?
Closing Prayer
Pray for each other and for God’s work in you by his Spirit.
Pray for the world and for a more just distribution of wealth and resources around the world.
Pray that God’s Kingdom would come on earth as it is in heaven.
