Each week we’re publishing some questions to think about based on the Sunday messages & Bible readings.
These can be used in home groups, with others or on your own, and are designed to help you engage in the passage and themes in more depth and reflect on how God might be speaking to you through them.
This week we had our monthly Splash! service, which means there is no recording. However, you can still dig into the Bible passage we looked at in the service by reading the passage and thinking about the questions below.

Icebreaker Question
What’s the most creative or unusual solution you’ve ever come up with to solve a problem?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Thank You for gathering us here today.
Just as You welcomed the man lowered through the roof, welcome us now.
Open our hearts to Your forgiveness, Your authority, and Your presence.
Remove anything that gets in the way of seeing You clearly.
Reveal Yourself to us as we listen, share, and seek You together.
Make us attentive to Your voice and responsive to Your Spirit.
Reading & Questions
Read Mark 2:1-12
- The crowd in the house stopped people from getting to Jesus. What are some of the ways in which we, as individuals or as churches, unintentionally block others from meeting Jesus today?
- Who in your life right now might need you to 'carry them to Jesus,' and what is one specific action you could take this week to support them? How might we cultivate the same determination to bring people to Jesus as the man's friends did?
- The story tells us that Jesus saw the faith of the friends and that this prompted him to act. How might this story inspire us as we try and put faith into action in our lives?
- What does the story teach us about Jesus' identity and authority?
- What does the story show us about God's concern for both our spiritual and physical needs? How do we hold these things in balance as we try to share the good news about Jesus with those around us?
- Where do you sense Jesus inviting you to trust his authority more deeply—in your decisions, your relationships, or your worries?
Closing Prayer
Conclude this time together by praying for the world, our church, for those you love and for each other.
Pray especially for those who you would love to meet Jesus today - bringing them to his feet and asking him to transform their lives.
